What it is and why it matters
PTZ stands for pan-tilt-zoom: a compact robotic camera controlled remotely, with one operator able to run several at once. For live production, PTZ changes the geometry of what's possible. Camera positions stop being limited to where a human can safely stand for three hours. A balcony rail, a backboard mount, the ceiling of a council chamber: all become angles.
It changes the economics too. One skilled operator running three PTZ cameras covers what once took three bodies, three risers, and three sightline arguments with your venue. Blended with operated cameras, PTZ is how a mid-budget show gets big-show coverage. On its own, a small PTZ system gives a meeting room or gym multi-angle coverage with almost no footprint.

How we run it
Design starts with the room
We survey sightlines, mounting points, cable paths, network, and light before recommending anything. The camera count comes from the coverage the room needs, not from a bundle.
Signal and control planning
PTZ cameras are network devices as much as cameras. Video, control, and power paths are engineered like any broadcast signal chain, with the same review every AVP.Live system gets. Our engineering discipline
Event deployment
For productions, PTZ heads rig quickly on clamps, walls, and truss, and a dedicated operator runs them from the control position, on the same comms loop as the director.
Installation done properly
Permanent installs are mounted, cabled, labeled, and documented to standard. No mystery cable, no camera aimed at a wall after month one.
Training and handoff
Operator training on real events, quick-reference documentation, and a support line. A system nobody can run is decoration.

Questions we get asked
Are PTZ cameras broadcast quality?
The ones we deploy are, and we match them to the light and distances of your actual room during the survey. The bigger quality factor is operation: a well-run PTZ beats a badly framed operated camera every time.
How many PTZ cameras can one operator run?
Typically two to four, depending on the pace of the event. Fast sports need tighter ratios; a public meeting can run more heads per operator.
Can our staff or students really run an installed system?
Yes, with a system designed for it. We build presets for the room's standard shots, write documentation for non-engineers, and train on real events. Districts run weekly broadcasts this way, and we stay available for support and the big events.
What does a permanent installation cost?
It scales with camera count, cabling difficulty, and the control position. The site survey produces a fixed written quote. For public entities, W-9, COI, and procurement paperwork are available on request, and we're used to purchasing processes.
Can you operate our installed cameras remotely?
Yes. Installed systems can be run from our Freehold control room over a planned network path, which lets us crew your broadcast without sending a full team to the building.
Do PTZ cameras replace camera operators?
For some rooms, yes; for fast action, no. We blend PTZ with operated cameras on most productions and will tell you plainly which positions need a human.
